We have practiced Direct Missions with men sent out under the authority of The Lords Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington.  Some of our efforts have failed and others bore fruit in the organization of congregations of like faith and practice.  We also support Missionaries sent with church authority from sister churches.  Even if we cannot support with finances, we are steadfast in prayer for sound mission work in the regions beyond.

The first church we organized was in Graham, WA. with the effort of our Home Missionary at that time, Elder Don Peach.

The Lord closed the door on our work in Vladivostok, Russia back in 1995 but you may enjoy reading the journal Pastor kept of his exploratory trip to Siberia with our Missionary at that time, Elder Kenneth Long.  Click Here.

Our work in Port Orchard, WA. and Ferndale, WA. did not bear fruit.  But God blessed our efforts in the Philippines and in Ireland through Elders Cresencio Baldemor and Robert Ellis.

 Elder Cresencio Baldemor

January 28, 2014

Dear Brethren,

It is with heavenly joy and earthly sadness that I must report the passing of our beloved Missionary to the Philippines, Elder Cresencio Baldemor. Please pray for the friends and
family as they deal with the grieving process. I was privileged to travel to Mindanao in November of 1994 and work with Brother Baldemor for a couple of weeks. We organized two Churches at that time.

I shall never forget that experience. I count Brother Cresencio as one of the greatest soldiers of the cross in our day. I encourage you to read a little bit about his ministry under the authority of the Lords Baptist Church here in Tacoma on our website www.thelordsbaptistchurch.com at the LINK for "Our Missionaries."  Brother Cresencio Baldemor went home to be with our Lord about 6pm January 28, 2014.

Brother Cresencio’s Son Dan Bimbo Baldemor is pastor of a church organized in Maco (2005) by the authority of Christ through our congregation in Tacoma and that church has taken on some of the preaching points that brother Cresencio had going.  There is a work in Mabini that is growing nicely and has found some property for a meetinghouse.  They are in need of about $3500 for the project.  Pray that the Lord would lay it on the heart of churches of like faith to assist with the financial burden.

Yours in the old landmarks by sovereign grace,

Larry J. Killion, Pastor
The Lords Baptist Church
Tacoma, WA.  98444.

***** Elder Cresencio Baldemor was in The Philippines

Missionary to the Island of Mindanao in the Philippines under the Authority of The Lord's Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington.

Elder Baldemor became a member of The Lord's Baptist Church and was recognized and authorized as our Missionary to the Philippines in July of 1993 when he came by letter from the Landmark Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Loyalton, California at her disbanding. He came to the Loyalton church by Statement after being excluded by the Pleasant Oaks Missionary Baptist Church of Texarkana, Texas for preaching the five points of Calvinism.

The following is an article from the March 1992 issue of Searchlight, an American Baptist Association paper.

Cresencio Baldemor of Tagum, Davao del Norte, Philippines, is no longer a member or missionary of Pleasant Oaks Baptist Church of Texarkana, Texas. The ABA mission office has been informed, and his salary has been stopped.

We heard rumors that Bro. Baldemor was preaching Calvinism and we sent a letter to him asking questions concerning his position. His answers confirmed that he was a Calvinist. After reading the replies, Pleasant Oaks Missionary Baptist Church held a special business on February 23, 1992, and voted (1) to withdraw our endorsement of Cresencio Baldemor as a missionary; (2) to exclude Cresencio Baldemor from the fellowship of the Pleasant Oaks Missionary Baptist Church; and (3) to inform the churches of the American Baptist Association and our sister churches in the Philippines of Cresencio Baldemor's departure from our faith and fellowship. Michael B. Crane, Pastor The following is a letter to the Filipino brethren from Elder Cresencio Baldemor in answer to this action.

Dear Filipino Missionary Baptist Brethren,
I was excluded as member and Missionary of Pleasant Oaks Baptist Church at Texarkana, Texas, last February 1992 because of my beliefs in the 5 points of the doctrine of grace, (TULIP). They call it Calvinism. Because John Calvin strongly promote this doctrine during his time. I was not aware that the said church is against Calvinism now. I was not aware that the ABA Churches are rejecting now this blessed doctrine of the Bible. That is why I did not resign. Believing that the ABA Churches were Calvinistic. As I read in the Encyclopedia of American Religion by J. Gordon Melton, Chapter ten page 369 and 373. "Missionary Baptists Calvinist."

There was no agreement I signed, not to accept this doctrine. No notice I received from the Church, preventing me to attend, hear accept the 5 points of the sovereign grace. No notice I received whatsoever. Not until I received an inquiry letter from the present pastor of the said church.

My answers without doubts was that, I believe, I preach to my people. It is scriptural. (1) Total depravity of man (Eph 2:1-5, Rom 6:23) spiritually dead. (2) Unconditional election or predestination (Eph 1:4,5,11, Acts 13:48); (3) Limited atonement (John 10,11,14,15. Mathew 20:28) to the elect only. (4) Irresistible grace (Acts 9-19, John 6:37,39,44 Romans 8:29-30, 35,38,39.) All the elect will be saved. (5) Perseverance of the saints or eternal security (John 10:27-29; Rom 8:1,38,39). The sovereign grace doctrine is a blessed fundamental doctrine of the Bible. I rejoice to know with all my heart. Yes, I lost the financial support from the Church and the Churches of ABA, but I have the blessed truth of God. I trust the Lord for my daily needs.

This blessed doctrine of the Bible was taught in the churches in every century AD only it is greatly declining according to the letter of Dr. Roy Culley Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Tatum, Texas. His letter to the Missionary Baptist Churches in the Philippines, as I lately read in the Missionary Baptist Newsletter edition, Manila, Philippines. Dated August 1991.

A paragraph of his letter says: "When the ABA was founded in 1921, Calvinism among Baptist in America was greatly in decline. Some of the early ABA leaders were Calvinistic. Thank God for the work of the Holy Spirit with the word of truth in the churches and the church sponsored Seminaries of the ABA, the Calvinistic influence has continue to decline" This statement of Dr. Culley proves that the early Baptists in America before the ABA was founded were Calvinistic Baptist Churches.

Those who know church history know that the old English Baptists were Calvinistic or 5 pointers. They believed the 5 points of the doctrine of grace. Before Calvin, it is there. Before Augustine of Hippo, it is there. There is declining because it is there. Therefore, I am not departing from the truth. Those who reject this Biblical doctrine are the ones departing from the truth.

I am not following any man. Nor a group of men. I was not offered money by anybody. But I just simply follow the plain teaching of the Bible. Thank God for this Blessed Doctrine. "---------contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3.

In November of 1994, Elder Larry J. Killion, Pastor of The Lord's Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington, went on a journey to the Mission fields of the Philippines and assisted Brother Baldemor in the organization of two churches; The Lord's Missionary Baptist Church in Apokon, Tagum and the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church in Luna. Elders Baldemor and Killion also assisted the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church in the ordination of their newly called Pastor Elder Joshue Baldemor. Click Here to see the story of this trip. Since then, there have been other professions of faith and believers following the Lord in scriptural baptism. Brother Baldemor has preaching points in Panibasan, Maco, and in the Northwestern part of the Island. The Lord's Baptist Church recently purchased a motorcycle with sidecar to help Brother Baldemor with transportation to these preaching points. The only financial support for this work is from TLBC, a couple other sister churches, and what ever offerings come in from the Filipino believers under Brother Baldemor's ministry. If God should lay it on your heart to help us in this great work, it would be greatly appreciated.

Elder Robert Ellis

Missionary to Ireland under the authority of The Lord's Baptist Church Tacoma, Washington.   We have now organized th Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Cork County Ireland and Elder Robert Ellis accepted their call as pastor.  See documents below.

Brother Bob became our missionary in May of 1997. His E-mail address is brider54@gmail.com The following is an account of how we came to know him and how we became involved in mission work in Ireland.

Brother Ellis was 42 years old. He and his wife Dee have one son who is in the military. Their other four children; Laura , Leta , Paul  and Luke  were all with them at that time on the mission field of the Island of Ireland.

Brother Ellis was saved through the ministry of a Bible Baptist Fellowship Church in Waterloo, Iowa. In the process of time, he felt called to preach and burdened for the mission field of Ireland. He moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend Bible College but was discouraged by some of the things being taught at the school and dropped out. He joined Grace Bible Baptist Church in Springfield (not a BBF church), was authorized to go to Ireland and raised enough support through deputation to go with his family to this field.

While on deputation for the mission field, Brother Ellis was challenged by several good sovereign grace Pastors regarding the doctrine of free grace as opposed to free will. Once he was on the field and having more time to study these things out from the Word of God, he came to embrace the five points of the doctrine of grace. The Lord also revealed to him the truth of wine in the Lord's Supper and the head covering on women in church. Believing all these things now, he felt the need to seek a sending church more in line with this doctrinal position. He discussed this with his Pastor, Brother Dennis Norwood, who was saddened by it but agreed that it would be best.

Brother Ellis approached The Lord's Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington about membership and authority to do mission work in Ireland. Upon hearing his testimony of salvation and baptism, a question was raised about his baptism. Further investigation revealed that the church which originally baptized Brother Ellis was started by a man with no authority from a New Testament Baptist church. This information was given to Pastor Killion personally in a telephone call on March 6, 1997 with Brother Fleshman, the present Pastor of that organization. Based on this, we informed Brother Ellis that we could only receive him if he submitted to our authority for scriptural baptism and ordination. He very willingly agreed.

We purchased plane tickets for him and he flew to Tacoma for scriptural baptism and ordination and authority on May 17, 1997. We have a VHS video tape of the ordination services and a couple of Elder Ellis's sermons that he preached for us while he was here. Brother Bob answered the questions from the presbytery better than anyone we have ever seen ordained. The video is available for those who may be interested in helping in this great work of reaching Ireland with the gospel of God's grace and planting a sovereign grace old landmark Baptist church there in that place.

He is back in Ireland now and a large portion of his supporting churches dropped him because of the change in his doctrinal position. He and his family need at least $3000 per month for the work to continue. Several sister sovereign grace churches have stepped up and are helping us in this endeaver. We are asking you to help get the word out about this good man and this great work, praying that God would burden the hearts of those of like precious faith to help us keep it going.

Yours in the old landmarks by sovereign grace,

Larry J. Killion
