PASTOR'S BLOG

A Sunday bulletin containing special announcements and other tidbits of information is commonly circulated before a church service begins. These pretty little flyers may also contain a listing of any scheduled programs the church has planned.

Nevertheless, we do not believe that a program should ever take precedence over the leading of the Holy Spirit. In other words, if He (Lord) decides to change the direction of a service, then we as Christians are to be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. In 2 Corinthians 3:17, the Apostle Paul writes: “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

You might be thinking, “Now Pastor, this would indicate your services are without decency and order.” Paul again wrote in 1 Corinthians 14:33, “For God is not the author of confusion.” We acknowledge that if the Holy Spirit is doing the leading, there will be decency, order, and understanding present in the Lord’s service.

I could write much more regarding this particular topic. Nevertheless, we want people to know if they are looking for a church where they can worship “Him (Lord) in Spirit and in truth,” (John 4:24) please give us a visit. If you feel like raising your hand, testify, or even shout it is not out of order at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
