Safe Kids - Check-In Procedures

The safety of the children in our care is very important to us. That's why we are excited about our check-in process. Checking your child in helps us accurately know the name of each child in our care. It also ensures that our children are only being released to those authorized to pick them up.

Here's what you need to know:

1. There are check-in computers at each location. At Williams Street there is a check-in at our nurseries and in our preschool/elementary area.

2. Each child is to be signed in and signed out at the check-in room when left in the care of the volunteers of Newark Church of the Nazarene.

Check-in Procedures:
When you sign your child in, please inform the volunteer of your last name and if there are any special instructions for your child.

If your child is in the nursery, please include the last time he or she ate and was changed. At that time, you will be given labels for your diaper bag and sippy cup. After you have checked your child in, a nursery volunteer will take him or her into the classroom. Only nursery volunteers are allowed in the classroom. This is for the safety of the children. All adults past the check-in point have had background checks and are approved to work with children.

When you sign your child in, you will receive a slip of paper with your child's name and pager number listed on it. If your child needs you while you are away, your Pager Number will appear on the display located beside the main screen in the worship center.

Check-out Procedures:
Simply present the slip with your child's name and pager number at the door of your child's room in order to pick up your child. Due to the importance of security for our kids and to ease crowded hallways, only the parent/guardian with this security slip is permitted in the nursery hallway after the service. Children are released to parents or guardians only. This does not include siblings.
