Dear Christian Friends,
What a joy it is to write to you from our new home in Buckhannon, West Virginia. The Lord has seen fit to allow us to buy a house just 3 miles from the church. We arrived at our new house on Saturday the 26th of June and have been working hard settling in. It has been six months since we lived in a home of our own. Since December of 09 we have been living in my parents house in Tennessee. I cannot stress enough what a blessing it has been to me and my family to have such wonderful parents as mine. They moved out of the house they lived in for close to 40 years and gave it to us lock, stock and barrel. They then moved into a rental house they owned that was in bad need of remodeling and have lived there with only a few items of comfort while my family enjoyed all my parents possessions. We will never be able to repay them for the kindness they have shown. Of course, they also got the opportunity to be five minutes away from their grandchildren and have enjoyed reconnecting with them for these last six months.
We have had the opportunity to visit several of the Lords churches since our last mission letter. We have been with The Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Northport, AL, the Faith Baptist Church of Sacramento, KY, and the Livingstone Baptist Church of Barboursville, WV and I was also privileged to preach in two Bible conferences at the New Testament Baptist Church in Dover, TN and at the West Milton Baptist Church of West Milton, OH. In addition to visiting these churches, since June 6 I have been driving back and forth from TN to WV to preach at the mission work in Buckhannon.
Now that my whole family is with me in Buckhannon, we are looking forward to getting settled into the work the Lord has called us too in this community. Any time you are in a new community there is a transition time in which you are kind of lost, so for the next few weeks we have to learn where everything is, the grocery stores, gas stations, doctors offices etc. We also get the opportunity to be the talk of the town, it is not every day that people meet someone with six kids. And even more of a novelty is that we come from Australia. However they are quickly disappointed that I dont have the accent. Yet with three of our children born in Australia they still seem to be impressed that they actually got to meet someone that is a true born Australian. I have already had the opportunity to witness to several who have asked why we came from Australia to Buckhannon, WV.
Tomorrow, July 2, all our worldly belongings are scheduled to be loaded aboard a ship bound for the USA. At present we have no furniture in our house, we have a borrowed kitchen table, but nothing else. We are sleeping on air mattresses and two of the boys have beds that my mother found for them. The container with our belongings is suppose to arrive in Baltimore on August the 13th, we hope to have our things shortly after, so pray with us that we will be able to manage until our things arrive.
Before I close I want to thank so many of you that have sent special offerings for the shipment of our goods. A very large portion of that expense has been met by the Lords churches. Depending on the exchange rate, we are now between 8 and 9 thousand dollars away from finishing the moving expenses. The Lord has been faithful to meet this need and we have every confidence that in the coming months the Lord will provide the needed funds to finish up. Until we get settled in we ask that everyone continue sending the monthly support and special offerings to the church in Paducah, we hope by next mission letter to be able to switch the support over. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
By Grace,
Bro. Jeff, Patti, Savannah, Sydney, Garrett, Ethan, Connor and Chloe
