Help The "WADY Team"
Currently the Bolsa Grande High School Key Club has adopted the WADY Team as their community service outreach
so we do not need any more volunteers for this. Check out their pictures below.
Our next food delivery day will be: Saturday, August 11, at 08:15 AM.
This date IS confirmed. ... More helpful info is found after the photos below...
(Come help on these days. Just show up at 15000 Pacific St. Midway City.
We will be delighted!) Remember to go to the BACK door.
For next month, our date will be: Sat. Sept. ??, always starting 08:15 AM -
(this date is not yet confirmed).
The following month's food delivery date will usually be on the 2nd Saturday of the month,
and will be on TBA. This date IS NOT confirmed.
(WADY means, "We Ain't Dead Yet" ... so
if you're still breathing, you can help someone else!)

Food delivery to the frail elderly once a month ...
You can do this! (even if only once, or once a quarter/year!)
Who can help? Any adult, couple, family, or group can help.
Children should be at all times under the direct supervision of their responsible adult. Same goes for small pets.
Do bring children and well behaved pets because it truly helps the lonely seniors socialize and lifts their spirits.
Of course, dogs must be on a leash at all times.
Helping the frail elderly who fall in the poverty level to receive a box of free groceries once a month is truly rewarding.
No money needed.
Without your help they have no way to get it, either because they have no car, it's too heavy for them (about as heavy as two or three grocery bags, or approximately 25-30 lbs.), or they cannot see that well to drive, or hear that well, or they have become too forgetful. Many are too intimidated because of language barriers.
Many languages are spoken in the senior apartment building where we bring these foods.
But the one language we all understand is love. They know the WADY Team and are delighted to help in any way they can. No need to learn a language. We have translators and can always use more of them.
You will learn to love these thankful people and to enjoy the benefits of intergenerational, cultural and international insights. Come help whenever you can. It's a very rewarding opportunity to truly help those in need and to meet some great people from all walks of life.
We usually go one Saturday morning a month, usually from 08:00 or 8:15; done before noon (unless lots of helpers show up, then done sooner) and it's usually on the second Saturday of each month. (The food bank picks the dates.)
If the date is not listed as confirmed above, then call us or check this web site or your email to confirm that food bank has not changed to a different Saturday for the current month.
We match newcomers with experienced helpers.
For the short orientation, just ask to sign in on the volunteer roster the first time you show up.
It's fun, easy, much needed and appreciated!
Park on the street out front. Carpool if you can.
Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or at (714) 897-1577 if you have questions.
Also, 1 (714) 654-5434 will be turned on during the active Saturday.
We deliver food boxes to the frail elderly at their room in their apartment building;
15000 Pacific St. Midway City, (Pacific Terrace), across the street from Peek Family Mortuary,
south side of street, off Bolsa, between Beach/Hoover
near SW corner of Bolsa/Beach Blvds. Normally there is no need to call...
just show up at the BACK door, not the patio door which faces a yard,
but the back door that faces the driveway at around 08:15 in the morning.
Please RSVP if bringing a large (6 or more) team.
You will see and hear the tenants, volunteers and stacks of food boxes (if they arrive before you do).
Ideally, we could use 6 teams of 2 persons each, with a total of 6 hand trucks; 1 per team.
(1 building, 2 wings, 3 floors = 6 teams serving, with 1 team in each area)
We already have 3 hand trucks (dollies) there, and Judy brings 2 more.
We're looking forward to meeting you!
