General Prayer Guidelines:
Enjoy the Lord in the beauty of His holiness!
We pray to the one and only true God, our heavenly Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and in the Name of Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.
We pray as saved and sanctified, reconciled and redeemed believers who have been given the glorious honor of becoming cleansed and holy children of God,
with all the inheritance of Jesus Christ at our disposal.
We pray daily for the cleansing of Christ for any sins, for the renewed infilling of the Holy Spirit for our power and anointing,
and for the on-going guidance and purpose of God to be manifested in our daily lives.
We yield ourselves to trust, honor and obey this triune God so that we might find and fulfill our purpose and destiny on this earth,
to His glory and to the advancement of the Kingdom of God in our midst.
We pray for God's righteous salvation to overtake in love all who are in sin's bondage.
Praise the Lord for the privilege of prayer!
Guidelines when praying for others:
I will find out what their prayer request might be; not what I think they need. I will pray to find a scripture verse to match that need.
When I get one I will pray it upon their lives, and I will tell them the verse and how I am believing God for their breakthrough
or victory as I pray through that scripture promise, example, warning, proverb or prophecy.
I will endeavor to share it in such a manner that they can be fully impacted by the realization that God has something special to say to them personally
... simply because He loves them unconditionally.
I will write down insights I get when I am praying for them and I will share them with a more mature Christian elder, deacon or pastor
before I share them with the pre-Christian person.
In this way I will remain gentle and balanced, responsible and scriptural in my handling of their newly forming spiritual faith.
I will not fail to bring all my questions, successes, failures, etc.to share with my church family as soon as possible,
so we can all grow in unity and celebrate together our common journey of faith as we learn to reach out to those who are perishing without Christ.
Guidelines for Phone Tree/Prayer Chain Prayer Partners:
For the Phone Tree Prayer Warriors (those without email);
Call the one after you on the list to pass on the current prayer request.
If they are not home, leave a message and call the next one & do likewise until you get a live one.
Let that one take it from there. The last person on the list is to give the message back to the first one on the list,
so we can see how long it took and if it suffered any error in transmission.
For all Prayer Warriors:
Do not let anything degenerate into gossip. Best guideline is to leave off last names, and give the message only as it came to you,
without elaborating or editing. If the Lord gives you any input, give it to the one who initiated the prayer request.
Do not put anyone on the list without their permission. Do not put any prayer on the list without permission from the ones involved.
Ask if it is ok to send the request to others on your email lists (besides those on the prayer list) before forwarding.
Be sure to give updates so that prayer partners can cease praying for any prayer request that has been resolved.
Keep calls between 9 AM & 9 PM, unless it's a true emergency.
Keep notes of best time to call, and times not to call certain persons.
Please send praise reports too. We all need encouragement often.
Ask those involved if it will be ok for us to share their praise report in our newsletter to encourage those whose faith may be starving
for reasons for hope in these dark times. Be sure to keep your own faith strong by allowing times of refreshing to wash over you,
as you return again and again to worship God and bathe in His wonderful, healing presence.
